CARD GUARD
Constructed for the Queen of Hearts to serve as her personal battalion. The card guards are not the world’s strongest or most tactical soldiers, but they come in packs of 52 and offer a great deal. Card Guards work best in small groups, where they are able to surround enemies and attack with their decorated halberds. When threatened they will pile against each other in attempt to raise their defenses. Card guards are somewhat clumsy and often make simple mistakes when asked to do anything more complicated than ‘watch over an area’ or ‘bring the queen tea’ or ‘plant red roses’.

Stack the Deck (single action)(manipulate) Requirement The card guard is adjacent to another card guard Effect The card guard lines itself up behind the other card guard, they share the same space and their AC and resistances to bludgeoning and slashing increase by 1. This ability stacks the more card guards join the deck. If a card guard moves out of the deck, they immediately lose this bonus.
